| My ex won't stop contacting me - what should I do? So I went through a devastating break up from my common law husband about 9 months ago. He just up and walked out one day, and I was really blind sided, and I've had a REALLY rough time trying to get over it. What made it most difficult was his totally horrible behaviour towards me after he left. He went out of his way to mess with my head while I was in a very, very vulnerable state. He went so far as to use our joint credit card to take out other women and to buy them flowers and stuff only a couple of weeks after he dumped me without any explanation, knowing that I got the visa statements, and he would call and text at all hours, all the time, often with lies that screwed with my head such as saying that he is a swinger and that he thinks he's bi (he's not), or with hinting at getting back together and then taking it back, etc. I would plead with him to leave me alone forever and told him how badly he was hurting me. I knew I wouldn't be able to get over my devastation as long as he kept contacting me and stretching out what is an incredibly painful situation for me (I had to go on anti-anxiety medication, see a therapist, and took leave from work, as the anxiety and emotional trauma he was causing was too much for me to handle, as a person who is generally very laid back and stress free). He knew how badly I was doing, but he still wouldn't stop. So now I thought that finally he'd stopped bothering me, but now again, since new years, he has started up again, just generally being a bad person, acting like an a$$hole ... I get the impression that he is seeking forgiveness in this hideous, passive aggressive kind of way, as well as actually regretting ever leaving me, as it seems he also realized what he gave up (I can never forgive him after all of this or get back together with him or be friends with him - he's really a bad person and that realization in and of itself is devastating, because I loved him with everything I had for several years). No matter how many time I tell him that I never want to hear from him again, that I hate his guts, and also when I don't respond to him at all, he stops for a while, but then starts up again. I wish I could let it roll off me, but I can't. It's more like a physiological reaction and even with medication my anxiety over it is, so far, beyond my control at a certain point. Changing my number isn't an option and he of course has all my email addresses including my work one (he also knows where I live, but thank god he hasn't tried to actually come over for many months now). So my question is: What should I do to stop him from contacting me once and for all??? I've tried responding with venom thinking he won't come back for more abuse. It doesn't work. I've tried reasoning and appealing to his caring side. Turns out he doesn't have reason or a caring side. I've tried just not responding. It doesn't work. Please, any legal and sane suggestions as to how to stop a selfish, immature, totally emotionally screwed up jerk from contacting me anymore would be great.
